Miss Lisa has been dancing since the age of 3, and began her teaching career in Murrysville in 1983. In 1995, she opened as "Steps by Steban" in Irwin. Over the years, she has helped many students achieve their own personal goals, whether it be dancing in high school musicals, on college dance teams, making Rockette auditions, dancing in local theaters, or simply becoming better athletes in school. She is also very proud of her studio's competitive dance troupes for their many awards won over the years at competitions. Now in 2016, she is excited to take her expertise to the Greensburg area, and continue to inspire children of all ages to love the art of dance. Lisa resides in Perryopolis.
Jenny began dancing at the age of five with Miss Lisa, and is happy to still be in the studio as the head instructor. She was a member of Extreme Dance Center's competitive dance troupe for many years where she trained in tap, jazz, ballet, acro, and lyrical. Jenny has been teaching dance for the last 19 years and enjoys helping students learn, grow, and strive to meet their personal goals. Over the years, she has choreographed many award winning and top scoring numbers for the competitive troupes. Jenny attended the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown where she was a member of the Dance Ensemble. She graduated in 2006 with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. She then completed her Masters in Reading Education at the University of Pittsburgh. When not busy at the studio, she is teaching second grade in the Greensburg Salem School District. Jenny currently resides in the Penn-Trafford area with her husband, Ryan and daughters, Mackenzie and Madison.
Rachel has been dancing with Miss Lisa since she was a little girl where she had the pleasure of dancing on the competitive team. She is thrilled to still be involved in dance by teaching recreational and competitive classes at Extreme Dance Center. She has over 15 years of experience in teaching kids ages 3-18. Her favorite styles of dance include hip hop, jazz, tap, and lyrical. In addition to teaching dance classes to kids, she teaches adult fitness class at Extreme Dance Center called Hip Hop and Sweat It Off. She has experience in choreographing for elementary and middle school musicals, along with music/dance instruction at Vacation Bible School. Rachel attended California University of Pennsylvania, where she had the pleasure of being a member of the hip hop and jazz dance team for two years. She graduated in December of 2010 with a Bachelor’s degree in Communication, focusing in Public Relations. When she is not teaching dance, she works for Redstone in North Huntingdon as a Community Liaison. Rachel currently resides in the Penn Trafford area with her husband, Tyler, and her two dogs.
Emily began dancing when she was 4, quickly to discover her love of classical ballet. She studied for 7 years at Laurel Youth Ballet in Greensburg, having the honor of performing lead roles in The Nutcracker, Cinderella, Four Seasons to name a few. She was accepted and participated in the Ballet Met summer program. Emily attended the Creative and Performing Arts High School (CAPA) with a major in dance. During this time she also received the Lyn Swan Scholarship for the PBT pre-professional program. Emily attended Seton Hill University and graduated with her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication and minors in Business and Dance. She also received her MBA with a specialization in entrepreneurship. While in college, Emily began teaching ballet at a few local studios. Emily has been teaching ballet and contemporary with Extreme Dance for ten years. She is a professional fundraiser and has worked with several non-profits. She recently decided to stay home with her daughter and focus on her Arbonne business. She resides in the South Hills with her husband Marty and daughter Kenley.
From the age of three, Kylie studied many styles of dance including: ballet, pointe, lyrical, tap, jazz, musical theater, and hip hop. As part of the competition company at a local studio, she had the opportunity to compete as a group member and soloist in Charleston, WV, Myrtle Beach, SC, and Las Vegas, NV. Kylie also had the opportunity of performing on the stages of Walt Disney World, FL. At the age of fourteen, Kylie began teaching various dance classes at a local studio and Penn Trafford Parks and Recreation. While studying for her degree at Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania, Kylie was part of the Jazz/Tap Ensemble and took extra classes in Ballet, Jazz, and Modern dance. She also returned to her home studio to teach and choreograph both recreation and competition level classes. Kylie was privileged to choreograph award winning solo and group tap, jazz, hip hop, and lyrical pieces. After earning her Bachelor of Science Degree in Safety and Environmental Management with a Minor In Business Administration, Kylie relocated to Los Angeles, CA. While in CA, Kylie taught classes in tap, jazz, hip hop, acro, and stretch/extension/kick at one of the top studios in LA, The Dance Factory School of Performing Arts. When she was not teaching, Kylie had the opportunity to take classes at Hype Studios in Torrance, CA. Aside from dance, Kylie is certified in Zumba Basic, Zumba Gold, and Hip Hop Hustle. She is also a Beachbody Fitness Coach. Kylie is looking forward to becoming a part of the Extreme Dance Center team.
Jackie found her joy for dancing at age 3. She started her formal dance training at the Atlantic City Ballet Theatre, and later moved on to train at the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre. In her teen years, she was accepted as one of the (at the time) youngest students to be accepted into Point Park University’s Pre-Professional dance program. She moved on to major in Dance at the Ohio State University. More recently, Jackie focused her studies on industrial/organizational Psychology and obtained her Bachelor degree. Jackie was one of the early members of Knoxville based modern dance collective, Momentum Dance Lab, where she performed, choreographed, directed shows, and served as president. In addition to teaching Modern and Ballet technique classes. Jackie is also a certified Zumba instructor.
Becca began dancing at the age of five. She has been dancing with Miss LIsa and Extreme Dance Center since she was ten years old. Becca graduated with her bachelor's degree in Early Childhood/Special Education in 2013 from Edinboro University. She then received her Masters in Reading Education in 2015 from Edinboro University. Becca currently is a reading specialist for Pittsburgh Public Schools.
Amanda began dancing with Extreme Dance Center when she was just three years old. Growing up in the studio, Amanda found her talent and love for dance. She later began teaching at the studio and sharing her knowledge and experience with students. She has won many top awards while competing with our elite competitive dance troupe and was the captain of her cheer squad at Yough High School. Amanda is attending the University of Pittsburgh with a major in Athletic Training.
Carly began dancing at the age of three. While at her home studio, she received training in tap, jazz, ballet, pointe, lyrical, and contemporary. When she is not dancing, she is probably playing in or directing instrumental ensembles! Carly is attending St. Vincent College with a major in Middle Grades Education and a minor in Music.
Dominique began dancing at the age of two under the direction of her mother and owner of Extreme Dance Center, Lisa Burton. She has trained in tap, jazz, ballet, and acro. Dominique was part of Extreme Dance Center's competitive dance troupe and has won many regional and national awards. She is happy to be in the studio teaching again!
