Miss Lisa has been dancing since the age of 3, and began her teaching career in Murrysville in 1983. In 1995, she opened as "Steps by Steban" in Irwin. Over the years, she has helped many students achieve their own personal goals, whether it be dancing in high school musicals, on college dance teams, making Rockette auditions, dancing in local theaters, or simply becoming better athletes in school. She is also very proud of her studio's competitive dance troupes for their many awards won over the years at competitions. Now in 2016, she is excited to take her expertise to the Greensburg area, and continue to inspire children of all ages to love the art of dance. Lisa resides in Greensburg with her husband, Chuck.
Jenny began dancing at the age of five with Miss Lisa, and is happy to still be in the studio as the head instructor. She was a member of Extreme Dance Center's competitive dance troupe for many years where she trained in tap, jazz, ballet, acro, and lyrical. Jenny has been teaching dance for the last 22 years and enjoys helping students learn, grow, and strive to meet their personal goals. Over the years, she has choreographed many award winning and top scoring numbers for the competitive troupes. Jenny attended the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown where she was a member of the Dance Ensemble. She graduated in 2006 with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. She then completed her Masters in Reading Education at the University of Pittsburgh. When not busy at the studio, she is teaching kindergarten in the Greensburg Salem School District. Jenny currently resides in the Penn-Trafford area with her husband, Ryan and daughters, Mackenzie and Madison.
Christine Rennie Mikrut, was a professional ballerina for over fifteen years with the Nashville Ballet and the Ohio Ballet. She danced numerous classical roles including Juliet, Giselle, Sleeping Beauty, Sugar Plum Fairy, and Odette/Odile in Swan Lake, as well as being featured in contemporary works by celebrated choreographers Twyla Tharp, Paul Taylor, and Trey McIntyre. She also performed several leading roles in works by George Balanchine including Serenade, Square Dance, Allegro Brillante, and The Four Temperaments.
Christine received the Individual Artist Fellowship in Dance awarded by the Tennessee Arts Commission in 2008 and was featured as one of the Nashville Lifestyles Magazine's 25 most beautiful people in 2006. She was also awarded an educational grant from the Caroline Newhouse Scholarship Fund in 2010 which enabled her to complete her yoga certification with Sanctuary Yoga of Nashville.
While performing, Christine was an instructor with the School of Nashville Ballet from 2001 until 2014 when she relocated back home to the Greensburg area. She taught all levels of ballet from baby ballerinas to the Nashville Ballet professional company dancers as well as teaching at numerous summer intensives throughout Tennessee. She has taught locally at the Pittsburgh Youth Ballet and Laurel Youth Ballet and is currently on the faculty of Texture Ballet School in McMurry. Christine is excited to join the staff at Extreme Dance Center.
Rachel has been dancing with Miss Lisa since the age of 5 where she trained in jazz, tap, ballet, and lyrical. As her skills progressed, she had the pleasure of dancing on the competitive team. She is thrilled to still be involved in dance by teaching recreational and competitive classes at Extreme Dance Center. She has over 15 years of experience in teaching kids ages 3-18. Her favorite styles of dance include hip hop, jazz, tap, and contemporary. Rachel has choreographed top-scoring routines for the competitive troupes at EDC throughout the years. She also has experience in choreographing for elementary and middle school musicals, along with music/dance instruction at Vacation Bible School. She continues her own dance education each year by attending both in-person and online classes and workshops. Rachel attended California University of Pennsylvania, where she had the pleasure of being a member of the hip hop & jazz dance team. She graduated in December of 2010 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication, focusing in Public Relations. When she is not teaching dance, she is teaching fitness classes for LUX Fitness Studio and working for Redstone in Murrysville as a Community Liaison. Rachel currently resides in the Penn Trafford area with her husband, Tyler, and her two dogs.
Becca began dancing at the age of five. She has been dancing with Miss LIsa and Extreme Dance Center since she was ten years old. Becca graduated with her bachelor's degree in Early Childhood/Special Education in 2013 from Edinboro University. She then received her Masters in Reading Education in 2015 from Edinboro University. Becca currently is a reading specialist for Pittsburgh Public Schools.
Samantha has been dancing since the age of 5 and has been trained in many styles such as ballet, tap, jazz, acro, and contemporary. She is currently attending Seton Hill University with a double major in dance performance and early education. She is looking forward to teaching in the studio!
Amanda began dancing with Extreme Dance Center when she was just three years old. Growing up in the studio, Amanda found her talent and love for dance. She later began teaching at the studio and sharing her knowledge and experience with students. She has won many top awards and titles while competing with our elite competitive dance troupe and was the captain of her cheer squad at Yough High School. Amanda is attending the University of Pittsburgh with a major in Athletic Training. Her outstanding choreography recently earned many top scores and overall awards this past competition season!
Skyler Hostetler discovered her passion for dance on the gymnastics floor. She was a competitive gymnast for six years before realizing her true love was expressing herself through dance. Over the past eight years, Skyler has studied ballet, jazz, tap, modern, acro, hip-hop, pointe, leaps & turns, and core & conditioning at Out of His Mind Dance and was a part of their competition team. In addition, she has studied other styles through numerous conventions and intensives. She has had many opportunities to travel and perform. Aside from dancing at charity events, Skyler has assisted teachers at conventions from Ohio to Florida and has been in dance video shoots. She is currently an assistant for Thrive Dance Experience Convention. Skyler was also crowned Miss Dance of Pennsylvania 2020. She currently attends Seton Hill University and is enrolled in the Fast Forward Program which will enable her to earn both her MBA in Business Management and her BA in dance with a concentration in choreography, teaching, and performance. Skyler can't wait to see you all in class!
Shane started dancing when she was 3 years old and has never stopped! She began her training in many styles of dance at Ken and Jean Dance Studio. While there, she passed Cecchetti Grades I-VI and received her certification for the teachers Cecchetti Grade I syllabus. In May 2021 she graduated from Seton Hill University with a Bachelor of Arts degree where she studied dance and business. During her time at Seton Hill, she was a member of Exhalations Dance Theatre, a dance performance group in Pittsburgh, the choreographer of the Seton Hill University Dance Team from 2018-2021, and the Seton Hill Dance Department Intern. When she’s not teaching dance, she is working as a Promotions and Events Coordinator at Live! Casino or traveling the country with CRU Dance Competition as their Assistant Show Director. Shane can’t wait to dance with you all in the studio!
Sage Evans is a sophmore dance major at Seton Hill University. She began dancing at the age of 3, and enjoyed many genres of dance while growing up. Sage continues to foster her love for dance, and is currently a member of the Seton Hill Dance Team. She is trained in ballet, jazz, musical theatre, lyrical, and tap. She has been teaching dance for the past four years. Sage is excited to share her expertise and work with the dancers at Extreme Dance Center!
Addie began dancing with Extreme Dance Center when she was only three years old. While growing up in the studio, Addison found her talent and passion for dance. She has won an extensive amount of top awards while competing on EDC's competitive troupe. Addison is now teaching at the studio and sharing her knowledge and skills with students! She recently graduated from Yough High School and is going to continue on with her already successful small business, A.L. Arts. Addie is excited to remain in the studio, and continue teaching and inspiring young dancers.
Alexis has been dancing for the last 12 years, and has had experience with various studios in the area. Alexis was already 13 years old when she began dancing with Extreme Dance Center, but she immediately felt welcomed to the team, and quickly made great connections with other dancers from the studio. She went on to compete with the elite dance troupe, winning many top scores and awards. Alexis later became an instructor for EDC. She is currently in college, majoring in early childhood education. Alexis loves to work with kids, as well as share her knowledge and passion for dance with them!
